Ricardo Ramos was born in Lisbon (1978) into a family of artists, which led him to explore different arts and materials during his training process.

In addition to being an artist, he was a professional fisherman and seafood collector for many years. As he followed his passion for catching barnacles, walking trails in the cliffs, facing the waves, experiencing freedom and implicit risk, he found himself confronted with the constant presence of objects foreign to nature.

He then added his passion for the sea and nature to his art. His art stands out for its environmental concern and coherence. The pieces are created only with fragments found at sea or on the coast, and no other materials are added to these fragments, they are used as they were found, they are not glued, varnished, painted, divided or discarded. Once found, they are no longer rubbish and will never be so again.

As a result of his passion and coherence, as well as being an artist, Ricardo Ramos has been a true activist in several campaigns (in Portugal, Mozambique, São Tomé and Príncipe and Cape Verde) and a guest speaker at numerous events. A large component of his activity is holding workshops with companies but mainly with young people and children (more than six thousand children have already participated in these workshops).
